Previously I mentioned the three comets that are nearing the earth. Comet 45P Honda next week, Elenin in september, and Levy early next year. If they interrupt the gravitation of earth at all, they may cause earthquakes or maybe tidal changes. The moon affects the tides so this is not far fetched. It does not take much interference to cause changes so to believe two comets can interrupt earth's gravity especially when they are both close to earth at the same time is highly likely. Unless Elenin is a brown dwarf and not the comet that most think is the case, it will not be close enough to earth to be a risk for collision with either the earth or the earth's moon. Comet Honda could affect comet Elenin's orbit when Elenin crosses behind Honda in september. There could be a possibility that Elenin's orbit can change and be captured by either earth's moon or earth although that is not likely to happen.
Elinin, if not affected by Honda, will cross in front of earth in mid october. If Elinin has much of a debris field, it could be quite the meteorite show in october.

What most people have not heard about is asteroid 2005 YU55. This asteroid, unless affected by either comet Honda or Elinin, will be crossing between the earth and the moon and will be closest to the earth on november 8 - 9 2011. It will be about the same distance as the moon for a few days. the moon's orbit is elliptical and is from 225,622 -252,088 miles from earth depending on its location in its orbit. 2005 YU55 will be 213,798 miles from earth on november 9. From november 6-12, it will be in the same general location the moon could be (depending on the moon's orbit) This should be an interesting time to watch. It could possibly collide with the moon or even be captured as a satellite around the moon or it's even possible the gravitational affects of Comet Elinin (which will still be in the general area - Honda will be long gone) could affect YU55. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months.

The near-Earth asteroid 2005 YU55 — on the list of potentially dangerous asteroids — was observed with the Arecibo Telescope's planetary radar on April 19, 2010, when it was about 1.5 million miles from Earth.

I predict an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 or higher will hit somewhere in the world in the next ten days.
This will be a very close call i pray it is only that. Discovered on December 28, 2005 by Robert McMillan of the Spacewatch Program A potentially hazardous Asteroid known as 2005 YU55. This Asteroid some what Large 400 meter-sized type – C, will pass by the Earth right between our moon and Earth. On November 8, 2011.
ReplyDeleteThe people on Earth have not seen a Asteroid of this size in advance. One this big Has not impacted Earth in over at least 4 thousand years. Most Objects that have a diameters over 45 meters or 147.637 ft strike the Earth approximately once every thousand years or so. Lying flat everything for hundreds of miles. Like the TUNGUSKA 1908 SIBERIA, RUSSIA CRASH OR Tunguska Explosion. This one did not even hit the Earth with its full Impact, it burst high in the air above the ground plowing it apart into many smaller parts. Making thousands of very deep holes in the Russian forests. Many of them in dense forest far from any roads or towns.
One 400 Meters 1,312.3 ft in diameter like this one YU55 weighing millions of tons would if impacted Earth on land would darken all of the Earth not for just days but much longer. It would change the weather not seen on Earth in over thousands of years a massive climate change to say the least.
Asteroids in the Asteroid Belt do have collisions and some do turn into meteoroids many in the past thousands of years have come into the Earth's Atmosphere. Many of thousands of them make it into Meteorites the signs are all over the Earth, craters of all sizes.
The World and NASA will watch this one very closely.
