This evening, Seattle Sound Transit Light Rail had a system wide power outage between SODO station and Rainier Beach Station at about 4:30 PM. Power was restored and trains operating normally at 5:45 PM.
The south bound train I was on lost power just after the Mt. Baker Tunnel and had enough power to coast almost to the Mt. Baker Station until it stopped. Enough auxillary power was established for a few minutes to get us completely to the station. Security was present immediately and everyone was calm. Our train driver let us know what was going on and gave us the option of either getting off the train to take a bus or to remain on the train and wait until power was restored. It took two hours to get from downtown to SeaTac airport when it normally takes about 30 minutes.
So far nothing about it on the news.
